GENERAL INFORMATION
What equipment and services are required to activate VoIP?
You will require a high grade of ADSL (Broadband) which TeleBiz can guide you. Thereafter TeleBiz installs the VoIP interface equipment to activate and maintain the service(s).
Points to remember when using VoIP
· There is no need to cancel your existing landlines as normally these are your advertised numbers. Although, many clients may reduce the number of their traditional land lines as outgoing calls are made via the VoIP lines.
· You will require a reasonably good ADSL service which most businesses already have. Some larger businesses requiring multiple VoIP services often chose to install an additional ADSL service specifically dedicated for their VoIP calls. In either situation TeleBiz can advise you accordingly.
· You can dial “000” from a VoIP line however emergency services may not recognise your address. Therefore we suggest your employees are trained to use a traditional land line to call emergency services. NB: TeleBiz can program a one touch key on handsets for emergency calls.
· On rare occasions you might make a VoIP call and hear static scratchy sounds or silence. This is normally caused by a poor quality internet channel elsewhere or your own ADSL service maybe faulty or temporarily overloaded (e.g. your server maybe downloading significant data). In this instance, simply hang up and re-dial or make the call via an alternative land line or mobile service.
What does it cost to install and activate VoIP?
Normally the installation cost is a lot cheaper than ordering and connecting traditional Telstra lines. Refer to your TeleBiz representative for a quotation because some phone systems have built-in VoIP connectivity whereas other phone systems may require TeleBiz to add a VoIP adaptor.
Billing & Payment of VoIP Account
Clients can visit the VoIP web portal anytime to view invoices, payments and itemised call history etc.
TeleBiz emails clients on the first day of each month for the previous months VoIP calls. The only payment option is via Westpac PayWay direct debit which occurs on the tenth of each month (10 days after invoice date). TeleBiz will provide a separate Westpac Pay Way Direct Debit authorisation form.
TeleBiz fees to supply and install VoIP adaptors are invoiced separately.
Service Support
The quality and uptake of VoIP has skyrocketed over the past two years and ongoing service support is minimal if any at all.
All technical or billing queries should be directed to TeleBiz in the first instance and the advantage of utilising TeleBiz to supply your VoIP service is that TeleBiz has full access to the VoIP services, to view and maintain the services provided.
